12/4/2009 2009 Seasonal Flu Vaccine 

Did you know that about 20% of the population will catch the flu each year?

Our Arlington and Mansfield clinics currently have Season Flu vaccine for our patients. Please check with your doctor for the best times to come in for this important vaccine.

Additionally, we are receiving small amounts of H1N1 vaccine weekly. Please check with your doctor for availability at this time.

11/9/2009 2009 H1N1 Vaccine Recommendations 

The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends that Family Healthcare Associates and other healthcare providers administer the first available doses of H1N1 to persons in the following four high priority groups:
• pregnant women
• persons who live with or provide care for infants aged less then 6 months (e.g., parents, siblings, and daycare providers)
• health-care and emergency medical services personnel
• persons aged 6 months--24 years

The Texas Department of Health continues to distribute vaccine according to the recommendations of the CDC however supply quanitities are very low. Vaccination efforts in November are expected to continue to cover the high risk populations. Once the demand for vaccine for the prioritized groups has been met, Family Healthcare Associates will expand vaccination efforts to include remaining patient populations.
