As your healthcare provider, we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and community.  We have been working closely with the CDC and local health departments to stay up to date with the latest information. Please review our new visitor guidelines below in response to the COVID-19 virus. We are trying to manage illnesses outside of the office when possible.

If you are sick with fever, aches, cough, fatigue, or sore throat, CALL OUR OFFICE FOR INSTRUCTION.

IF your physician advises you to come into our office, you will be asked to complete a risk assessment questionnaire and have your temperature taken prior to entering the building.  This is for your protection and the safety of others.  If necessary, you will be asked to immediately put on a face mask before you enter our office.  You may also be asked to wait in your car until triaged by your physician.

1.  If you have severe symptoms, including shortness of breath, you should go directly to the nearest ER, especially if you are over 60 years old.

2 The CDC recommends the following for when to stop self-quarantine after a presumptive diagnosis of COVID-19:

  1. No fever for 3 days without taking medications to lower fever; AND
  2. Improvement in symptoms from time of presumptive diagnosis; AND
  3. 7 days from the start of the first symptoms

 3.  Could this be the flu or something else?  If you have fever, muscle aches, and a cough, this could be the flu, but COVID-19 has similar symptoms. Again, call your physician for instruction.

We do not currently offer testing for COVID-19.

We know these are uncertain times.  We encourage you to follow the recommendations of the CDC and STAY AT HOME.  We will send updates as they become available.

Sincerely,

The physicians and staff of Family HealthCare Associates
