Dr. Norman Clothier

Dr. Norman Clothier specializes in Family Medicine and has been with Family HealthCare Associates since 1994. Dr. Clothier knew from a very early age that he wanted to become a doctor. He says that while he did consider entering the ministry for a time, he ultimately felt called into medicine. He is happy to be in Family Medicine today, and says that he is excited by what he calls a “return to comprehensive, compassionate care of the entire family.” Dr. Clothier says that one of the most rewarding aspects of his role as a physician is to see people in all aspects of life – in joy as well as sadness, in health and in illness, early and late in life – and to know that he has been entrusted to share in each transition.

Dr. Clothier lives in Plano and has been married for over 30 years. He and his wife have 8 children; 6 boys and 2 girls. His family has extended to include one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law, and one granddaughter. He is currently a youth baseball and basketball coach and has taught American Government with North Texas Educators and Christian Homeschoolers. Dr. Clothier is a member of a local Church of Christ where he teaches an adult Bible class and has served as an elder since 2010.
Dr. Clothier’s hobbies include reading, Bible study, and spending time with his children, all of whom are big Mavericks fans. He enjoys helping raise his family of Chihuahuas; he currently has four: Oreo, Chocolate, Cappuccino, and Churro.

Dr. Clothier received the Roy Willingham Health Professions Award as outstanding pre-med student at Abilene Christian University, was Outstanding Student in the field of Family Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical School, and was recognized as one of the top 20 family practice residents in America with the Mead Johnson Family Medicine Award while in residency at Fort Collins Family Medicine Center.
