Dr. Sunitha Malla

About Me:

I am married (15 years) and have 2 girls. I enjoy gardening both flowers and vegetables and traveling when I can.

I am part of the Senior Social Committee in Southlake and volunteer at FLU clinics.

My special area of interest is Obesity Medicine. I like helping people lose weight and live their best life. Weight loss medications have improved with so many options and newer research.

What is most important to you in treating your patients?

Treating the patient like a person and the whole family including social physiological aspects.

Why did you want to become a doctor?

Poor health of one person in a family can affect entire families dynamics and looking at my grandparents' health inspired me to improve and contribute in healthcare.

What would you like you patients to understand?

That I am on their team to help them achieve their healthcare goals and optimize their life.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role as a physician?

Seeing patients thrive personally and their health improves.

I feel most connected to my patients when …

I spend time to explain, discuss with them the medical treatment plans.
